The Lilypakr (LPK) is a porting adapter ("packer" in PU industry jargon) specifically developed for use with polyurethane resins to stop water infiltration. The packer fits 5/8" diameter holes, uses male grease (zerk) type fluid connection, and features a unique expandable sleeve that contains pressures as high as 4,000 psi. The Lilypakr is four inches long. A great reach for penetrating honeycombed areas! Greater lengths are available. The sturdy 3/8" hex body offers a firm no-slip deep socket grip.
As the threaded stem of the body is rotated, the brass nut is drawn into its sleeve, squeezing it tightly against the wall of the hole. There is no frustrating rotational slippage between the sleeve and the nut when tightening because they are welded together in the molding process. Rotation of the sleeve within the hole has also been virtually eliminated by combining Teflon and steel washers for near frictionless motion between the stem body and the sleeve. Torsional distortion of the plug is also thus reduced. And, the Teflon and steel washer combination reduces the effort required to tighten the packer as well. Rotational slippage of the sleeve within oversized holes is reduced by small flanges radiating from the sleeve. Lilypakrs are usually left behind because the components are non-corrosive aluminum, brass, Teflon, stainless steel, and rubber. The grease coupler is cadmium plated steel, but stainless is available. The packers are shipped factory assembled, ready for insertion. If 1/2" holes are to be ported, consider the Injecti-port packer. This tool slides over the stem to seat on the steel washer. Tapped with a hammer, it drives the packer easily into snug holes.
